defensive lineman Jamarion Carlton reflects on ‘amazing’ official visit to LSU

** DL Jamarion Carlton Recaps ‘Amazing’ LSU Official Visit**

Jamarion Carlton, one of the nation’s top-ranked defensive linemen in the 2025 class, took his talents to Baton Rouge this past weekend — and left with a lot to think about.

The 4-star standout, ranked in the Top247, called his official visit to LSU nothing short of “amazing,” giving Tiger fans hope that another elite defender could soon be suiting up in purple and gold.

From the moment Carlton stepped onto campus, LSU rolled out the red carpet. The coaching staff made it clear he’s a top priority — and the energy inside the football facility matched that intensity. “The love they showed was real,” Carlton said. “It felt like family from the start.”

Carlton spent the weekend connecting with players, touring the revamped facilities, and sitting down with head coach Brian Kelly and defensive line coach Bo Davis. The message? Carlton could be a game-changer in Death Valley.

“I could really see myself in this defense,” he said. “Coach Davis showed me how they would use me, and it fits exactly what I do best — attacking and making plays in the backfield.”

The visit also included a taste of Baton Rouge’s southern charm. Between team dinners, meetings with academic advisors, and some Louisiana-style hospitality, Carlton was sold on the LSU culture.

With multiple top programs still in the mix, Carlton’s recruitment isn’t over — but LSU certainly made a powerful impression. “This visit opened my eyes,” he said. “They’re definitely at the top right now.”

Tiger fans will be watching closely as the summer heats up — and Jamarion Carlton inches closer to his final decision.
