ESPN Reports: Tennessee titans Locks in 5-Star Tight End Brandon Ford’s Commitment, Closes the Recruitment Playbook
In a significant development for the Tennessee Volunteers’ 2026 recruiting class, the program has secured a commitment from elite tight end Carson Sneed. Sneed, a standout from Nashville, Tennessee, is rated as the No. 75 overall prospect in the 2026 class, the No. 5 tight end, and the No. 2 player from Tennessee, according to Rivals.
Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 215 pounds, Sneed is known for his versatility on the field. At the high school level, he has played tight end, offensive tackle, and has also contributed as a front-7 defender. In his sophomore season, he recorded 15 receptions, 10 of which were touchdowns, showcasing his prowess as a significant red zone threat. Scouts have praised his ability to dominate in run-heavy formations and find soft spots in zone coverage as a pass-catcher.
Sneed’s commitment is a testament to the efforts of tight ends coach Alec Abeln, who played a pivotal role in his recruitment. Sneed chose Tennessee over other top programs, including Alabama, LSU, Michigan, and Ohio State. His decision was influenced by his lifelong affinity for the Volunteers. “UT has kind of had my heart since I was a kid because that’s the team I grew up watching,” Sneed told The Tennessean. “But I also approached my entire recruiting process like a business. I weighed my options, but Tennessee had the jump on everyone and just kept the lead.”
With Sneed’s addition, Tennessee continues to build a formidable 2026 class, aiming to solidify its position as a powerhouse in college football.
