Fabio Paratici knows who he wants Tottenham to replace Cristian Romero with.

Tottenham Hotspur remain at very real risk of losing their vice-captain Cristian Romero this summer, and Fabio Paratici wants the North London club to replace the Argentine with a 24-year-old Serie A star.

According to reports, we will find out by the end of this month if Cristian Romero will join Atletico Madrid, with the La Liga club setting a clear deadline for the transfer.

In the meantime, it appears that Tottenham Hotspur are preparing for the possibility of losing their vice-captain and have identified one Lazio man as a potential replacement.

Last week, reports from Italy indicated that Tottenham had set their sights on Mario Gila, who has developed into one of the most reliable and consistent centre-halves in Serie A over the last couple of years.

Lazio have already turned down two offers for Gila
Just a few days ago, it was reported by Il Messaggero that a number of teams from the Premier League and Europe are keen on landing the 24-year-old.

The update suggested that Tottenham could face competition from Chelsea, Bournemouth, PSG and Real Madrid for Gila this summer.

It was even asserted that Lazio had already turned down offers of €40m (£34m) and €35m (£30m) from the Cherries and the Blues respectively for the Spanish centre-back.
