The summer transfer window is back open again as Derby County plot their first bits of business.

As a result of Manchester City and Chelsea being in the FIFA Club World Cup, there was an exceptional registration period open to all clubs in England.

It began with the window opening on June 1 and closing on June 10 with a deadline of 7pm. It then reopened again on Monday and shuts on September 1, again with a 7pm deadline.

This summer will give Derby head coach John Eustace to put his own stamp on the squad in what will be his first window in charge following his arrival back in February.

But there is no shortage of rumours that have emerged as Derby get ready to do business having released eight players and seeing five players return to their parent clubs following their loan spells.

Here, DerbyshireLive looks at all the players who have been linked with the club so far.

Andi Weimann

The Blackburn Rovers forward is currently available on a free transfer but has been offered a new deal at Ewood Park.

Scored nine goals last season in all competitions and John Eustace is understood be keen on being reunited with him after signing him for Blackburn last summer.

Weimann has previously played for Derby who spent £2.5m to sign him from Aston Villa back in 2015. One to watch.

Kamil Conteh

The Bristol Rovers midfielder is regarded as one of the brightest talents in the lower leagues and he missed the back end of the season through injury.

The 22-year-old started his career at Middlesbrough, but has worked his way from Grimsby to Rovers and is now being tipped to move on again.

He is primarily a defensive midfielder.

Cody Drameh

John Eustace has worked with the full-back before when he was Birmingham City and there is fresh speculation surrounding Drameh’s future given the uncertainty at Hull.

Barely featured under Ruben Selles for the Championship run-in, but has a couple of years left on his contract.

At a good age and crucially can play either right-back or left-back and that versatility might be persuasive.

Danny Batth

Another player who is out of contract at Blackburn but has been offered fresh terms by Rovers as they attempt to keep the 34-year-old.

Derby may need to add a centre-back this summer but if Derby do press ahead, it’s not going to be a long-term deal.

Played 41 games last season and was a key performer as Rovers just missed out on the top six.

Nat Phillips

Widely tipped to leave Liverpool this summer, Phillips enjoyed a terrific season-long loan with Derby where he really shone in the second half of the campaign.

John Eustace confirmed he would like to keep the Reds ace but the wages might be an issue given his salary at Anfield.

But given how well he did, it woud be a deal that would be given a huge thumbs up by the fans. West Brom reportedly lead the chase.

Ethan Erhahon

The Lincoln City midfielder has had a string of admirers, but nobody has actually put an offer on the table that the Imps will accept.

Director of football Jez George has already said that it would take a club-record fee to be tabled before they consider parting company.

A defensive midfield player who is very good in possession.

Paudie O’Connor

The centre-back was out of contract at Lincoln and was linked with Derby and other clubs in the EFL.

Stoke City and Huddersfield were also touted as destinations.

A strong defender who loves a tackle, Lincoln were keen to keep him at Sincil Bank but he has now moved on to Reading in League One.

Ricardo Santos

Another centre-back to be linked with Derby following his release by Bolton Wanderers. Played a key role under Ian Evatt as they just missed out on promotion when they were beaten by Oxford United at Wembley.

Physically imposing, he was once regarded as one of the best centre-backs in League One.

Didn’t have the best of seasons last term and Bolton decided to part ways. Since joined Swansea.

Thierry Small

Small has been linked with Derby before, but there was renewed speculation surrounding the Charlton man who was out of contract this summer.

Has played an integral role for the Addicks who could be back in the Championship next season if they win the play-off final.

Can play as a winger or a wing-back and was highly regarded by Charlton boss Nathan Jones following his performances. Has now left the Addicks to join Preston.

Maksym Talovierov

The Plymouth defender proved to be real hit for Argyle before injury curtailed his season.

Was immense in the win over Liverpool in the FA Cup in what was a rare defeat for Arne Slot’s Premier League winners.

It is claimed that he has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave Plymouth following their relegation from the Championship.

Mahir Emreli

The Azerbaijan international was supposedly on Hull and Derby’s radar as well as other clubs in the Bundesliga.

Was a free agent with Nurnberg confirming they would not be extending the 27-year-old’s contract.

His preference was to stay in Germany and he is now set to join Kaiserslautern on a three-year contract.

Lewis Travis

A player that Eustace knows well following his time at Rovers where he was his skipper.

Approaching the final year of his current deal at Ewood Park, a three-year contract with Rovers is on the table.

However, there have been reports that Derby, Wrexham and Birmingham are all keen to lure him away from Lancashire.
