Phil Jagielka fires shot at James Tarkowski in new Everton reveal.
James Tarkowski may have seen his season with Everton curtailed because of injury, but he still had plenty of impact on the pitch.
The 32-year-old made 33 Premier League appearances this season, contributing one goal and one assist along the way.
He may be a defender, but it is the goal that Tarkowski will be remembered for.
In the final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park against Liverpool, the Englishman scored a wicked back-post volley to earn his side a point in stoppage time.
Chaos ensued, and Tarkowski firmly cemented his name in the Everton history books, but Phil Jagielka may not be having it.

Jagielka takes credit for Tarkowski’s goal
The Merseyside derby back in February was not long after David Moyes had taken over at Goodison, and the result against the Reds was a real indicator that things were looking up for the Blues.
With Liverpool becoming Premier League champions under Arne Slot this term, it would have been no big shock if they had beaten the Toffees, but Tarkowski was not allowing that to happen.
In a game that means so much to those at Everton, Tarkowski isn’t the first to step up and give supporters a moment to remember.

The final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park was a game to remember.
Jagielka scored an even better goal for Everton against Liverpool back in 2014 at Anfield, also to earn his side a point in injury time.
When asked live on talkSPORT (12 June, 6:52 pm) whose goal was better, Jagielka jokingly took a shot at Tarkowski, admitting he had a part to play in the goal.
The former defender said: “Oh, Tarky knows mine was better, but his will be talked about.
“To be fair, I’d been in about a month before, and we’d been through my goal with Tarky, and he managed to nearly recreate it, so I’m going to take all the credit. The only reason he scored is because I was coaching him just before.
“Sorry, Tarky, it’s all down to me, mate.”
Everton to hold on to history in new era
Everton are certainly on the cusp of embarking on a new era in Merseyside.
Under new owners in The Friedkin Group and preparing to move to Bramley-Moore Dock, there is plenty to be excited about at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
However, Moyes leading the side ahead in their new movements does provide a tie to the past and carries over a certain spirit from Goodison.
The fact that the likes of Jagielka, who was present at the final game at Goodison Park, is still so heavily involved with the club still shows that respect of the history.
Moyes will be ready to propel Everton up the table next season, but the Toffees will surely not lose their spirit.
