What Jorgen Strand Larsen said to Fer Lopez to make Wolves transfer ‘decision’ easy…
For a second consecutive summer, Wolves have looked to Celta Vigo to deliver a new signing.
Wolves have announced the signing of Fer Lopez, who arrives at Molineux from the Spanish club.
The 21-year-old is a versatile playmaker who is ready to make an impact on Vitor Pereira’s side, where he already has a close friend.
Lopez and Jorgen Strand Larsen went on holiday together this summer, and now, the pair are teammates at Wolves, just as they were at Celta Vigo.

How Jorgen Strand Larsen helped Wolves complete Fer Lopez transfer
Strand Larsen will be overjoyed that Wolves have signed Lopez, whose playmaking qualities will hugely support the Old Gold’s number nine.
In his first season at Molineux, the Norwegian netted an impressive 14 Premier League goals, and even though the campaign is over, Strand Larsen is still helping his team.
Speaking to Wolves’ official website after his move was made official, Lopez revealed the impact that Strand Larsen had on him completing a transfer to the West Midlands.
“He’s a top guy, and he helped me a lot in my decision, because I know that with him here, I’m going to have someone I can trust,” Lopez said of Strand Larsen.
“I’m moving away from my family, and it’s a difficult step, not just in sport, more in my life outside football, and I know he’s going to be there for me.”
Lopez went on to explain what the Wolves striker told him ahead of his move to the Premier League.
“He told me that to play in the Premier League and with a team like Wolves, it’s amazing, that the fans were incredible, and that he had a great year last year, he told me he had one of the best seasons of his life.
“So, he told me that I should come, that with the gaffer and all the teammates, the style of play was going to be very good. We’re going to play good football, attractive football, and I think I can fit in there.”
It’s fair to say that thanks are in order for Strand Larsen, as the Norway international clearly swayed his former teammate’s decision to join him at Molineux.
The pair were together in Spain at Celta Vigo, but never got the chance to play alongside each other as Lopez was in the academy side, and now, their wish will come true.

Lopez knows Vitor Pereira improved Strand Larsen
Lopez would’ve, of course, spoken to Pereira to understand what the manager wants from him and what the project at Wolves could offer to his budding career.
That being said, the revelation about Strand Larsen’s comments have arguably had more of a say on the transfer.

The Wolves star also told Lopez about how Pereira has impacted him as a player, waxing lyrical about his manager.
“Jorgen told me, because under Vitor, he scored a lot more goals. I know that the team did very good last season when Vitor came, and they battled relegation comfortably.”
The new signing added that he understands Pereira is a ‘top’ coach, and that he’s already ‘very excited’ to work with him.
Lopez joins to bolster the Old Gold’s options in the final third in what is an incredibly exciting acquisition to kick the summer transfer window off with.
