Bournemouth midfielder says Nottingham Forest have a ‘top, top player’ in their squad
Nottingham Forest are gearing up for a big 2025/26 campaign with the UEFA Conference League on the agenda.
The Reds finished seventh in the Premier League, and having only been back in the top flight for three seasons, that represents a real sign of progress.
Forest are going in search of a number of new players this month, with plenty of irons in the fire for the club when it comes to the transfer window.
Samuel Mbangula is set for Forest, and Timothy Weah is also in talks to sign from Juventus in the coming weeks.
The squad will return to training fully refreshed, but for one Forest star, the summer hasn’t yet begun with glory on his mind on the international stage.
Alex Scott hails Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson
For Anderson, it’s been a season to remember after his decision to walk away from his boyhood club in quest of regular senior action.
Anderson has wowed Gary Neville and held down a place in the team as the driving force in midfield for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team.
Right now, the 22-year-old is trying to help England under-21s retain their European Championship trophy, and the Young Lions face the Netherlands in the semi-final.
Anderson has made quite the impact on his teammates, it would seem, and Bournemouth star Alex Scott has heaped praise on him.
He told Henry Winter: “He’s obviously had an amazing season at Forest. He’s shown what he can do in the Premier League. To come here, he’s a massive player for us. He brings us so much experience, energy and his technical ability is very good as well. I’ve loved every minute I’ve been there next to him in midfield.
“We have a great relationship off the pitch and that comes on the pitch as well. He’s a top, top player and we get along all the time. He obviously was not too happy the other day (starting on the bench against Spain).
“I think you can see it with the reaction from his penalty (no celebration). So we’re all bantering (him) about that. He’s a great guy and a top, top player.”
Anderson is set for Forest and England stardom
The talented midfielder raised eyebrows when Forest chose to part with £35 million to bring him to the City Ground.
However, when Odysseas Vlachodimos went to Newcastle as part of the deal, it soon looked like an absolute steal at a net figure of around £15 million.
Anderson defied expectations during 2024/25 and looks like he’s got the potential to become one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and for England.
Forest hit the jackpot when they landed Anderson and he offers another firm nod of the cap to the recruitment team for the brilliant work they’ve done in recent seasons.
‘We’ll regret this’… Juventus fans turn on their own club after what’s happened with Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest are exploring a double deal with Juventus for Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangula, but one aspect of the potential deal is seriously concerning fans of the Italian club.
After Nottingham Forest News was able to confirm that Forest are in talks for Weah and Mbangula, excitement grew at the potential of two new wide players arriving at the City Ground.
Nuno Espírito Santo wanted two new wingers to bolster his squad, so the deal made sense on Forest’s side, with Weah a right winger and Mbangula operating on the left.
However, the deal hasn’t gone down as well over in Italy as Juventus fans took to social media to voice their disbelief at the idea of losing Mbangula in particular.
