‘Monchi may be the solution’ – Aston Villa director has fans dreaming could be key to ‘salvation’.
Aston Villa director of football Monchi is being eyed up as a potential saviour for Spanish third division side San Fernando CD.
That’s at least according to Orgullo Biri, who report that ‘Monchi may be the solution’ for the club as they lurch from one issue to another.
They explain that San Fernando are currently going through one of the most difficult times in their history after relegation to the third division. There are also management issues, with the current administration leaving them in a ‘critical situation’.A combination of financial problems, internal instability and a lack of leadership has set off alarm bells and the club’s fans and city are now mobilising to stop its demise.
There have been protests, meetings and urgent actions to try and rescue the club and amid this ‘Monchi appears as hope’.
He is being mentioned as a possible key figure for the club’s salvation. Whether this is as an investor or something else isn’t made clear. Either way, the Aston Villa director is seen as a ‘promising option’ thanks to his prestige in world football, connection to the region and experience in sports reconstruction.
There is no official confirmation of his involvement as yet, which would presumably be difficult given his importance to Aston Villa, but the mere possibility of a figure of his stature joining the process has revived optimism among San Fernando’s fanbase as they fight to keep their club alive.
