‘Leeds submitting new Rodrigo Muniz offer as Fulham plan revealed’…

Leeds United are preparing a new offer to sign Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz after seeing their first bid turned down by the West London club.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Daniel Farke’s side are prepared to spend “mega” money this summer.

The 24-year-old forward has emerged among the top targets at Elland Road as they aim to strengthen their squad to stay in the Premier League.

However, Football Insider revealed on 23 June that Fulham are confident of pricing Leeds out of a move for Muniz as they are determined to keep their star man.

The Cottagers turned down an offer worth £32million for the Brazilian and are prepared to hold out against offers which could eventually exceed £40million.

This comes after Football Insider revealed that Leeds want to sign a new striker as a priority this summer amid concerns about Patrick Bamford and Joel Piroe.

Leeds prepare big-money offer for Rodrigo Muniz
Brown told Football Insider in April that Leeds are prepared to spend big this summer with six potential signings on their radar including the addition of a new striker.

The former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that Leeds are preparing a fresh offer for Muniz in the hope of tempting Fulham to sell.

“Leeds are trying to strengthen their squad for the Premier League,” he told Football Insider.

“If clubs come out without financial backing behind them, it’s difficult to strengthen well enough.

“Joel Piroe and Patrick Bamford are Championship players, that’s the issue Leeds have at the moment they haven’t got many Premier League-level players.

“So they’re aiming to bring in players with that experience at the top level, and they accept they might have to pay mega money to do that.

“Muniz is one of those and he’s now emerged as one of their top targets.

“Their first bid was turned down but from what I hear, that won’t be the end of it.

“If £32million wasn’t enough, I’d expect the deal eventually to go up to around £40million and then it will be up to Fulham to make a decision.

“The problem if you go anywhere above that fee, you expect a real top player and for those you’ll be competing with the likes of Man United and Chelsea.

“It’s not an easy market to be competitive in, and there isn’t an abundance of strikers available.

“Muniz is one Leeds feel would make them stronger, so they’ll see if they can get him in, but a lot of it will depend on what Fulham are asking for.”

Leicester City eye Sam Greenwood deal after Vardy latest
Leeds are planning to strengthen up front this summer, but that could see some of their fringe players forced out of Elland Road on permanent moves.

Brown told Football Insider on 23 June that Leicester are interested in signing Sam Greenwood following his loan spell at Preston North End.

Leicester are in the market for a new striker after Jamie Vardy announced he would leave the club upon the expiry of his contract at the end of this month.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on 9 May that Wolves are in pole position to sign Vardy while the likes of Leeds and Wrexham have also been linked.
