Manor Solomon to Leeds United transfer latest as new Tottenham ‘headache’ gives fresh deal hope.

Leeds United may want to remain attentive to Manor Solomon’s situation as his return to Tottenham Hotspur, at least in part, has landed the club with a ‘headache’ – according to reports.
The Whites were left impressed by Solomon’s contributions during his most recent season on loan from the Premier League outfit. Solomon scored 10 and assisted 13 en route to Daniel Farke’s side clinching promotion to the top-flight, including the last-minute strike that won the Championship title.
But since his memorable spell at the club, the 25-year-old has seen his loan come to an end, returning to his parent club in turn as of July 1, whilst speculation has run rife over a permanent move to Elland Road.

On that front, a welcome piece of information has emerged that may yet tip the scales in Leeds’ favour. The Telegraph explains that Spurs, returning to pre-season training this week along with numerous other Premier League clubs, have a squad selection issue brewing.
Thomas Frank’s team are to compete in the Champions League next season as a direct reward for winning the Europa League. Governing body UEFA has strict player registration laws allowing no more than 25 players to be named on a club’s ‘A-list’, though eight of those are required to be ‘locally-trained’, meaning they were developing at an English club for three seasons between the ages of 15 and 21.
Of those eight, four must be specifically ‘club-trained’ by Spurs and the other four are able to be ‘association-trained’, by other English clubs.
Failure to meet these requirements then hinders the ability to register anyone ‘non-locally-trained’, i.e. players from abroad, from their pool of senior stars, and this is where Spurs have their headache.
Of those returning under new boss Frank this week, only one can be classed as ‘club-trained’ whilst there are 24 ‘non-locally-trained’. That latter total includes those like Solomon returning following 2024/25 loans.
It also appears to be the North London club’s intention to successfully sign West Ham United attacker Mohammed Kudus, who would be the 25th on the list. All roadmaps therefore point towards several stars missing out on being included in the Champions League in the upcoming season.
Now, Spurs would be able to top up their squad with players from a ‘B-list’, which is made up of players who were born on or after January 1, 2004 and have been able to played for the club for three consecutive years, but Frank will not want to be reliant upon youngsters in UEFA’s toughest club competition.
The situation also paints a picture towards Solomon’s chances of getting first-team minutes with Spurs in domestic competition next season. It has been reported that he will have opportunity to impress under a new coach this summer but the idea of a permanent move to Leeds, where he was adored for his contributions and surely would be again, will linger as long as that goes on.
Over the past month it had been widely covered how Solomon had returned to Israel, his homeland, and married his long-term partner Dana Voshina before becoming stuck in the country upon the escalation of conflict with Iran.
This new report states belief that Solomon has managed to secure passage back to England and will be back ready to resume training with Spurs this week.
