Nottingham Forest make decision on future of respected star player, announcement imminent.

Nottingham Forest might have only signed one player to their squad for next season, but some tidy business has been done this summer.

First, the club managed to tie Nuno Espirito Santo down to a new contract, with Neco Williams following suit shortly after.

Then, after weeks of speculation, Forest announced the signing of Igor Jesus as their first summer recruit ahead of next season.

Forest are keen to get Callum Hudson-Odoi to sign a new contract, and talks appear to be progressing on that front.

Now, on the eve of pre-season training commencing, some big news is coming out of Forest involving an important player.

Nottingham Forest tie Ola Aina to a new contract
David Ornstein has dropped a huge update on Aina this evening, with the news that a new deal is now signed and sealed.

Forest themselves haven’t announced it yet, but it’s believed that Aina has agreed to a three-year deal with an announcement believed to be imminent.

Aina has been a brilliant player since signing for Forest in the summer of 2023, becoming a mainstay in the team, operating as a left-back and a right-back.

It had been a concern that Aina’s contract wasn’t overly protected by any real longevity, with other clubs snooping around the player.

Now, however, the integral component of Espirito Santo’s team has signed on the dotted line and can finally relax over his City Ground future.

Forest must work on more deals for current stars
Hudson-Odoi will see his contract expire next summer, whilst Morgan Gibbs-White only has a couple of years remaining on his deal.

As a result, both players would ideally be tied down to longer deals, if only to preserve the two players and their valuation if a transfer did arise.

It’s great to get both full-backs tied down to new deals, but Forest can’t relax and must now get to work on other players and their contracts.

Evangelos Marinakis continues to back the club and show ambition and this move will be extremely popular among the fan base.
