Newcastle United make secret Sean Longstaff decision after Leeds United transfer offer..
Leeds United have seen three bids rejected for the Newcastle United midfielder..
Sean Longstaff started and scored in a behind-closed-doors friendly for Newcastle United on Saturday just days after seeing a third bid for him from Leeds United rejected.
The midfielder struck first blood for the Magpies after 25 minutes in a 4-0 win over National League outfit Carlisle United. The midfielder played the first half before the whole Newcastle XI was changed for the second half.
Longstaff saw a £12m bid from Leeds turned down this week, which was the third offer rebutted. However, while hopes have naturally lowered, a possible move is not quite dead in the water.

It’s been indicated to Leeds Live that Longstaff is open to the move and will not be quick to close the door. Newcastle have two windows in which to gain pure FFP profit for their academy graduate given he has a year left on his deal.
While there are concerns over Newcastle’s homegrown quota for their Champions League squad, those close to the situation outline it would be a surprise if a bulky offer does not tempt the North East outfit into a sale.
Eddie Howe is a fan of Longstaff but there is uncertainty over how much game time he would receive next season. He started just eight Premier League games last season, none of which came after the turn of the new year.
With 171 Premier League appearances, Longstaff’s experience appeals to Leeds. But they are now assessing their midfield options having been knocked back again for the 27-year-old.
A number one target has not been outlined yet but a goalkeeper is high on the agenda and club chiefs are in continuous discussions over the role. Illan Meslier is not up for sale but it is accepted that he could seek first team football elsewhere after losing his number one status.
Like Lyon talent Lucas Perri, Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic is on the list but interest from rivals means United have branded him the least likely acquisition of the options being considered.
