From Mexico: Ipswich Town’s negotiations to sign Marcel Ruiz going well..
David Button has so far been the only new player to arrive at Ipswich Town this summer and he joined them on a free transfer earlier this month.
The Blues are working on improving their squad as they aim to return to the top flight, after their relegation from the Premier League last season.
Ipswich Town have now set their sights on Deportivo Toluca’s Marcel Ruiz, according to a report from Mexico.
Journalist César Luis Merlo covers the English club’s interest in the midfielder for Mexico’s Súper Deportivo.
The 24-year-old could move to the Championship this summer on a multi-million-dollar deal.
César Luis Merlo claims sources close to the operation have informed him Deportivo Toluca are in negotiations with Ipswich Town for the Mexico international’s transfer.
He adds the talks between the two clubs are ‘going well’ and the discussion is currently ongoing for Ruiz’s permanent sale to Ipswich Town for $10m [€8.55m]. The player could also be open to a move, but that’s not specified or indicated in the report.
Ruiz joined Deportivo Toluca in June 2022 and played 124 games, managing 14 goals and 16 assists.
