Finance expert shares what Sheffield Wednesday sources are now saying about latest Barry Bannan reports.
Barry Bannan has now become a free agent after seeing his Sheffield Wednesday contract expire on June 30.
Barry Bannan is a long-time servant of Sheffield Wednesday, but his future in Yorkshire remains up in the air.
Sheffield Wednesday have a three-window transfer ban, which also means they are limited in the amount they can offer to players for new deals.
The figure is thought to be capped at £7,000, and as wages continue to go unpaid, a number of players could leave the Owls.
Josh Windass is training away from the squad along with several more stars amid reports that some players have now requested to depart.
Yet despite now officially being a free agent, Bannan has continued to train with the first team upon their return from pre-season.

Finance expert shares Barry Bannan latest from Sheffield Wednesday sources
Now, an update on Bannan has emerged via finance expert Kieran Maguire.
There has been a suggestion this week that the Scotsman told the club he doesn’t want to be paid until all of Sheffield Wednesday’s support staff have been paid.
After hearing that news, Maguire spoke to his source inside Wednesday, who seemed to quash that rumour.
Speaking on the Price of Football podcast this week, Maguire said: “I have been in contact with our sources at the club because there was a story circulating yesterday that Barry Bannan had said something along the lines of you don’t pay me until all of the support staff have been paid, which was if so, was a very magnanimous gesture.
“I did speak, however, to the Price of Football’s secret Owl in the dressing room, who said Barry Bannan is a Scotsman, if you think a Scotsman is going to give up receiving money, think again.
“So somewhere along the lines, there are mixed messages coming up. But even so, we’re not trying to make light of what is a very serious issue.”

Sheffield Wednesday fans have labelled Bannan a ‘legend’ of the club, but what the future holds for the midfielder remains to be seen.
His latest contract with the Owls, according to Capology, saw him taking home £24,038-a-week.
Given Wednesday’s recent problems with the EFL, they are currently unable to offer any player, including Bannan, that amount for a new deal.
Whether Bannan would accept a reduced contract offer is not yet known.
