Fabrizio Romano: Wolves in Talks to Sign ‘Powerful’ Star for Pereira
Wolverhampton Wanderers are now pushing in talks to sign Almeria defender Marc Pubill, according to Fabrizio Romano, with negotiations underway.
Vitor Pereira’s side are starting to make some moves in the summer transfer window after the Wolves boss helped them secure their safety in the Premier League last season. Fer Lopez was the first signing through the door, alongside Jorgen Strand Larsen’s loan deal being turned permanent, but Wolves are still in the market for fresh additions.
Romano recently confirmed that Wolves have agreed a deal to sign Fluminense winger Jhon Arias for a fee of around £17m. With the signings of Arias and Lopez boxed off, Wolves may have now done what they can to replace the final third production lost by the sale of Matheus Cunha, who moved to Manchester United earlier in the transfer window.
Wolves Pushing in Talks to Sign Marc Pubill
Negotiations are underway
According to Italian journalist Romano, Wolves are pushing in talks to sign Almeria right-back Pubill, with negotiations now underway over a potential deal. Pereira’s side want to ‘anticipate’ Italian clubs with contact made regarding securing his signature…
“Understand Wolves are pushing in talks to sign Marc Pubill at right back with negotiations underway. Wolves want to anticipate Italian clubs, still keen on the player and interested.”
Pubill, described as ‘powerful’ by analyst Ben Mattinson, could make the right-back spot his own if he does make the move to Wolves after they lost Portuguese defender Nelson Semedo, who left the club following the expiration of his contract at Molineux. The 22-year-old has amassed plenty of experience at senior level despite his age, and it could be a real opportunity for him to stake his claim in the Premier League with Semedo departing.
Pubill could be the ideal mix of a signing for the future as well as one who is capable of making an immediate impact under Pereira and it could be a smart addition if they are able to sign him for a reasonable fee.
