West Brom must beat Sheffield United and Hull City to sign ‘fantastic’ free agent amid battle with Celtic..
Sheffield United, West Brom, and Hull City are all reportedly tracking the free agent after his contract expired earlier in July.
So far in the summer transfer window, the free agent market has proven a fruitful avenue for Championship teams to explore.
As second tier outfits look to add quality reinforcements ahead of what could be the best Championship season yet, there is a litany of top talent in the Premier League free agents list, waiting to be snapped up this summer.
Now, second tier trio Sheffield United, West Brom, and Hull City are said to be fighting for the signature of a former top flight defender.
The three aforementioned clubs face stern competition from the Scottish Premier League giants Celtic in the deal, but the Baggies must make sure they win the transfer race.

West Brom must beat Sheffield United, Hull City and Celtic to sign Jeffrey Schlupp
Former Leicester City star Jeffrey Schlupp is on the move after his Crystal Palace contract expired at the start of July, with the aforementioned Championship trio keen on the 32-year-old.
Schlupp spent the second half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Celtic, where he lodged two goal contributions in 18 appearances for the SPL giants, to help Brendan Rodgers’ side win the league title.
The Ghanaian joined Palace from the Foxes in 2017, and went on to make 247 appearances for the London outfit.

According to Africa Foot, Celtic are looking to sign Schlupp permanently after his impressive loan stint, with the Blades, West Brom, and Hull all also in the running.
Of those three second tier suitors, West Brom must swoop to secure Schlupp’s services, after Baggies boss Ryan Mason missed out on transfer target James Penrice earlier this month.
After West Brom wanted to sign Penrice, EFL Analysis revealed earlier in July that Penrice snubbed West Brom for AEK Athens, after the Scottish left-back accepted a ‘bumper’ three-year deal with the Greek giants.
For a multitude of reasons, the Hawthorns hierarchy must try and beat Celtic, Sheffield United, and Hull to become Schlupp’s next club.

Ryan Mason would continue stellar business if West Brom sign Jeffrey Schlupp
In Mason’s first months in charge, the Baggies have made an exceptional start to their summer transfer window business.
West Brom signed Aune Heggebø, with the promising Norwegian forward arriving at the Hawthorns in a £4.7m deal.
He became the Baggies’ second signing of the summer, after West Brom signed Nat Phillips from Liverpool.
Phillips revealed why he chose West Brom over a return to former loan outfit Derby County, owing to the club’s Premier League ambitions.
West Brom are contenders for a top-six finish this season in Mason’s debut campaign, and the acquisition of Schlupp would further cement their aspirations for a play-off place.
