However, talks of an exit seemed to die down with many now expecting Liverpool to keep him for the 2025-26 season, but, evidently, that is not the case.

Nottingham Forest enter race for Dan Ndoye, causing Napoli to consider a move for Federico Chiesa
Bologna’s Dan Ndoye has been Napoli’s main target for the wing this summer.
Antonio Conte also had his eyes set on Darwin Nunez as his dream striker target, but that move never came to fruition.
Now, however, as per a report from La Gazzetta Dello Sport, it seems like Nottingham Forest have entered the race for Ndoye.
The report outlines that although the Bologna attacker already has an ‘agreement in principle’ with the Naples-based club, Forest have now ‘entered the fray.’
Ndoye is ‘open’ to hearing the offer from the Premier League side, and if a move is sanctioned, Napoli’s move for Chiesa could now come back ‘alive’ as they may turn towards their alternative targets.
Liverpool cannot let Federico Chiesa leave Anfield this summer
One of the main areas that Slot has improved in his Liverpool team this summer is his attack.
The likes of Florian Wirtz have already been brought in, with others such as Hugo Ekitike on the brink of being welcomed through the Anfield doors.
However, with players such as Luis Diaz and Harvey Elliott both close to exiting, it’s unclear what the Reds’ attacking force is going to look like by the start of the season.

Indeed, Chiesa didn’t perform to his best standards last term, but if he’s given more of an opportunity to present himself, he could become a key cog in the Dutchman’s system.
The Italy international also only cost Liverpool around £12million to bring in last season, so they’re not likely to lose any money on him, even if he does have another season on the sidelines.
Of course, only time will tell what the future has in store, but for now, it feels essential to try and keep the 27-year-old at Anfield.
