Sunderland and Bournemouth ‘in pole position’ to sign player – Tottenham also make contact…
Sunderland, AFC Bournemouth and Tottenham Hotspur are in the mix to sign Sevilla’s Loïc Badé this summer.
That’s according to El Chiringuito, who took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share an update from journalist Gonzalo Tortosa on Sunderland, Bournemouth and Tottenham.
He claims the Black Cats and Andoni Iraola’s side are ‘very interested’ in the 25-year-old.
Tortosa adds Tottenham, Villarreal and Marseille have also asked about the conditions needed to sign him. This indicates Sunderland and the Cherries have made contact, likely with the La Liga club.
Foot Mercato partly bacs up El Chiringuito’s claim and then provide their own updates.
It’s claimed the Premier League newcomers and Bournemouth are ‘in pole position’ to sign the defender, who is valued at €30m.
Sunderland director of football Florent Ghisolfi, who had signed Badé for RC Lens in the past, is leading their pursuit. He’s very interested in bringing him to the Stadium of Light.
Bournemouth are also very keen, while Marseille and Villarreal are in the mix. With regards to the fifth club, Foot Mercato say it’s Aston Villa and not Tottenham.
They have found out that Tottenham aren’t interested despite El Chiringuito reporting on Spurs making contact.
Last week, Aston Villa director Monchi said Badé is no longer a target for them, after he rejected the Villans in January.
