New AFC Bournemouth stadium plans go on show.

AFC Bournemouth is holding a public exhibition to showcase its plans to expand Vitality Stadium.

The club said the public exhibition at the stadium from 15:30 to 20:00 BST would show why it wanted to “significantly expand spectator capacity” and “improve the matchday experience”.

It recently released images of how the proposed redevelopments to increase the stadium’s capacity to 20,000 would look.

It said supporters and members of the public were welcome, and key personnel would be present to answer questions.

Visitors planning to attend have been advised to email the club in advance.

The club said it would take on board the feedback from local residents and the public when shaping its proposals.

Bournemouth agreed a deal to buy the stadium back from Structadene in April, 20 years after they sold it to the property company to avoid going into administration.

The plans include demolishing the current South Stand and building a new grandstand with 7,000 seats, infilling the stadium corners to create an additional 1,440 seats, plus extending the North and East Stands to bring in another 2,900 seats.

There are also plans to create a new fan zone in the south west corner of the ground, between the new South Stand and the current Main Stand.

The Cherries hope to have the stadium redevelopment completed for the start of the 2027-28 campaign.
