According to Hull Live, the Tigers are in talks to sign the 26-year-old after departing Hillsborough after his contract was terminated via mutual consent.
It has been claimed that he could sign for the Owls’ Yorkshire rivals by the middle of this week, with the defender moving on quickly from live in Danny Rohl’s side.
Famewo spent the last three seasons with Sheffield Wednesday, making a total of 65 league appearances in that time.

Championship – Sheffield Wednesday v Southampton
When asked if Famewo’s departure was a blow, FLW’s Sheffield Wednesday fan pundit Patrick McKenna claimed that it has been a summer of blows for the club.
While he isn’t concerned about the loss of Famewo’s ability, he believes the experience and depth he added to the squad disappearing is the bigger issue.
“This is certainly another blow for us in a summer of blows,” McKenna told Football League World.
“Akin, okay he’s not a top level defender, he is bottom-end in the Championship, he does have mistakes in him, but I think last season before his injury he hit his best form.

Sheffield Wednesday’s Yan Valery is attracting transfer interest from clubs in the Championship and across Europe.
“But this isn’t really about ability mainly, it’s about losing another player, shedding more players, weakening our squad, the loss of more experience.
“It’s not something you want to see, but again he’s going to be a player going for no money.
“And the reason he’s going is related to wages, so it’s another blow and it’s going to have a further impact on the season ahead.”
Josh Windass and Michael Smith have also departed Sheffield Wednesday this summer through termination of their contracts, in what has been a very difficult period for the club behind the scenes.

Sheffield Wednesday disasters are piling up
On the face of it, losing Famewo isn’t a massive blow as he wasn’t a massively important part of the team.
But in the grander scheme of things, it is a blow for whoever is manager next season, whether it is Danny Rohl or someone else, given the number of departures that are now piling up.
Replacing these players won’t be easy given the transfer restrictions they’ve been handed, along with the lack of money.
This could be a very difficult campaign ahead for Sheffield Wednesday, especially if even more exits follow.
