Woltemade to walk into Moyes XI as Everton transfer boost emerges – Exclusive…

Everton have emerged as a potential suitor for Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade this summer.

The striker hit 17 goals in all competitions last term and finished as the top scorer in this summer’s Euro U21 tournament, as his Germany team lost to Lee Carsley’s England side in the final.

The Toffees have held an interest in Woltemade for several months now, as David Moyes and Co. look to strengthen their hand ahead of the new Premier League season.

They had seemingly lost out on the 23-year-old to Bayern Munich, but now it appears as though his future may have turned in a different direction.

The German giants had agreed personal terms with the former Werder Bremen man, which had seemingly taken him away from the Toffees’ grasp.

However, with Vincent Kompany’s side now said to be prioritising a move for Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, Woltemade’s future appears to have taken another twist.

Ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes that the opportunity to become a regular starter in the Premier League could now become a more attractive proposition for the striker, given that Bayern are about to add another attacker.

“He (Woltemade) is a player that would strengthen Everton’s squad,” King said.

“They’re in the process of rebuilding, and they want to get new players through the door and out on the pitch.

“That kind of player would be interesting for Everton, and I think the Premier League would be an interesting option for him.

“Bayern Munich are pretty solid in all departments. He would know that if he was going there, he would be a squad player.

“I think he’d have a good chance of making the starting XI straight away if he came to Everton.”

Bayern will erst einmal kein drittes Angebot mehr abgeben. @BILD

Woltemade could complete Everton’s crop of strikers
Beto’s future at Everton has been up in the air over the last few months, but if the Toffees could swoop and secure Woltemade’s signing, it would leave them with a relatively deep array of options to lead the line.

The youthful duo of Woltemade and Thierno Barry could provide strong support for Beto, and crucially help to share the goalscoring burden and ease some of the pressure on the Guinea-Bissau international.

That would then allow the 27-year-old to continue to prioritise his hold-up play and utilise his ability to battle with centre halves to bring others into the game.

Moyes’ side were hugely keen on the Stuttgart man earlier in the summer, and it would be a huge surprise if they don’t try and make a second attempt to bring him in after Bayern’s decision.
