David Moyes shares 37-word response when asked if Everton are signing Adam Aznou…
David Moyes responded when asked about Everton’s interest in Bayern Munich left-back Adam Aznou after the pre-season defeat against Bournemouth.
Everton haven’t had the greatest start to pre-season, having drawn against Accrington Stanley and lost against Blackburn Rovers and Bournemouth.
However, there have been injuries which have contributed to the poor results, and there’s still an evident need to get new players through the door at Finch Farm.
With that said, the Toffees are in talks to sign Adam Aznou, who would come in to compete with Vitaliy Mykolenko at left-back.
Speaking after the Bournemouth game last night, David Moyes lifted the lid on the potential Aznou transfer.
David Moyes lifts lid on Everton’s interest in Adam Aznou
Moyes was asked by reporters about Bayern Munich defender Adam Aznou after Everton’s 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth.
The Scotsman was happy to share that the club have made a bid and went on to praise the 19-year-old’s potential.
“We have made an offer,” Moyes explained.
“You know, whether it’s accepted and whether it’s all done, but he’s a young player, he’s a young left-back, so it’s someone who we see having a good future and potential.”
The fact Moyes discussed Aznou so openly shows a deal is probably pretty close, with Fabrizio Romano expecting a medical to take place today. Bayern Munich really rate Adam Aznou..
Anzou’s imminent exit at Bayern Munich isn’t because he isn’t rated by the club, in fact, sporting director Max Eberl and Vincent Kompany really admire the teenager.
“He’s extremely talented,” Eberl said about Aznou via Sky Sport. “He has incredible potential and that’s why we’re happy that he’s now also made it to the professional ranks. Hopefully, there will be a lot more games to come for him.”
“Adam has simply done very well in training and with the national team,” Vincent Kompany said. “He can be proud. Now he just has to keep working.”
The reason for his exit is likely because he only has two years left on his deal and he’s keen to move on to get regular football.
So, Everton fans should be really excited about Aznou’s forthcoming arrival.
