Wolves have announced a complete restructuring at the top following Matt Hobbs’ exit as sporting director.

Hobbs’ departure came as a surprise as the former sporting director left his post at the start of the summer transfer window.

During his time at Wolves, Hobbs conducted some terrific transfers as well as some that left a lot to be desired.

Now that the Englishman has gone, manager Vitor Pereira will be supported by a variety of figures, including super agent Jorge Mendes and newly appointed director of football, Domenico Teti.

Domenico Teti breaks silence on Wolves move
Amid the change, Wolves finally unveiled Teti as Wolves’ new director of football, taking to the club’s official website to share the news.

In a club statement, the changes behind the scenes were announced, as switches in roles and personnel beneath Jeff Shi were confirmed.

Domenico Teti – Director of football.
Matt Jackson – Director of player recruitment and development.
Phil Hayward – Director of performance.
Matt Wild – Director of football operations and administration.
Max Fitzgerald – PR and communications director.
The focus of the report was the appointment of Teti, who broke his silence on the move with a message that Wolves fans will appreciate.

“I am truly excited to join the Wolverhampton Wanderers family and to feel the passion of its fans, who embody the soul and spirit of this historic club. It is an honour to be part of something so special.

Wolves fans aren’t admirers of Shi, but it’s clear to see that, along with owners Fosun, the chairman is trying to put things right after a chaotic few years.

Speaking after Teti’s unveiling, Shi explained that it was the businessman’s ‘international background and experience’ that earned him the job at Molineux.

“I’m pleased to welcome Domenico to Wolves as part of our football leadership team. His international background and experience at senior levels will bring fresh insight to the club and strengthen the structure supporting head coach Vitor Pereira and the first-team environment.”

It’s all change at an exciting time for Wolves, with the summer transfer window underway ahead of a crucial period of preparation to sufficiently equip Pereira’s squad.
