Report: Some at Bayern Munich have doubts about Brighton & Hove Albion’s Karou Mitoma, Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo..
Is the list dwindling for Bayern Munich.
According to a report from kicker journalist Georg Holzner (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich execs are split on Brighton & Hove Albion’s Karou Mitoma and Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo, which will propel them to look at other options for wing:
A potential move for Kaoru Mitoma is unlikely to get a majority vote at FC Bayern, as the club’s management lacks full conviction in his case. Cody Gakpo also has skeptics at Bayern – among other things, they argue that he’s not worth the fee of around €70m being quoted. Rafael Leão, meanwhile, has many supporters within the club. Bradley Barcola is a desired target but it remains uncertain whether he will be available at all.
Considering that there are reservations about Mitoma and Gakpo, and that Barcola might not be available, the first alternatives to Nico Williams are now Jamie Gittens and Rafa Leão.
If true, it could explain why board member for sport Max Eberl abruptly left the United States for Germany. With the market start to shake out, options for who might play left-wing next at Bayern Munich are dwindling.
With Bradley Barcola likely to stay at Paris Saint-German and Nico Williams in favor of a transfer to FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich’s top selections might already be spoken for.
