Ex-Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley ‘eager’ to join Roma.
Ex-Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley may leave Brighton and Hove Albion after just one season.
The 23-year-old is reportedly eager to join Serie A club Roma.
O’Riley had a tough start at Brighton, getting injured six minutes into his debut, but managed to make 23 appearances in his first season.
The former Celtic player is said to be ‘eager’ to join the capital club, who are managed by Gian Piero Gasperini.
Gasperini previously attempted to sign O’Riley for Atalanta last summer.
Roma are reportedly preparing a loan offer for O’Riley with an obligation to buy next summer for £30 million.

O’Riley recently expressed his dissatisfaction with his current role at Brighton, saying [RecordSport]: “I am not completely happy, and I am just giving my opinion.
“It makes it difficult to show off when you play a position you are not completely happy with.
“I can play better for the team if I play the number eight position.”
