Ipswich Town: Brentford appoint ex-Blue Keith Andrews as new manager..
Premier League side Brentford have announced their new manager – and it isn’t Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna.
Following Thomas Frank’s move to Tottenham Hotspur, where he replaces Ange Postecoglou, McKenna briefly became the odds-on favourite to take charge of the Bees.
It was widely reported that they held a lot of respect for the Northern Irishman and were considering a move. In the end, they opted for an internal appointment.
That has seen former Ipswich loanee Keith Andrews appointed as their new boss – his first management role.

The 44-year-old, who scored nine goals in 20 appearances for the Blues back in 2011, has had a variety of different coaching jobs since ending his playing career. He was assistant manager to Mark Robinson at MK Dons, which came before a stint working under Stephen Kenny for the Republic of Ireland.
He joined Chris Wilder’s backroom staff at Sheffield United in December 2023 before switching to Brentford, becoming their set piece coach. Now, he will make the step up to become their new manager.
The news has been met with some concern from supporters, but Brentford have made internal appointments in the past, having done so with Frank back in 2018.
The Dane has taken most of his coaching staff to North London, however, including Justin Cochrane, who was originally seen as a leading contender to manage the Bees.
