Strand Larsen drops honest Fer Lopez verdict after first few days of training at Wolves ‘he reminds me a lot of…’
Fer Lopez is Wolves’ only signing of the summer so far – although that could soon change following a breakthrough over Jhon Arias.
Molineux News understands Wolves are set to win the race for Arias, having reached an agreement with Fluminense for his transfer.
Arias is now poised to seal his move to Molineux, and become the club’s second signing of the summer after Lopez.
Meanwhile, Lopez has been getting to know his new teammates out in Portugal.
The star is looking to make a good first impression having arrived to a fair bit of hype and for a pretty big transfer fee of just under £20 million.
Lopez will need time to settle at Wolves, but one man who already likes what he sees is Jorgen Strand Larsen.
Strand Larsen says his new Wolves teammate Fer Lopez reminds him of Pablo Sarabia.

Lopez is not a replacement for Matheus Cunha, despite some early suggestions he would be.
Ultimately, he has not been around in senior football long enough, and is a different profile of player despite being able to play as a number 10 like the Brazilian.

Lopez – who will wear the number 28 shirt for Wolves – is primarily a technician, and this has been evident so far for Strand Larsen.
Wolves’ number nine has had some positive things to say about Lopez, and even compared him to Pablo Sarabia, who recently left as a free agent.
He told Wolves’ official website: “He’s a really good player. A typical Spanish player, he reminds me a lot of Pablo [Sarabia] from last season.

“Really good technically and obviously he’s young, so he might need some time, but I think he’s already doing really well in training and doing good stuff. For a striker, to have someone like him around you is really good. So, he has a lot of quality, and I think we can expect some good assists from him next season.
“I think the most important thing is to just be himself like he is now and just learn how to speak English a little bit better and get into the rhythm of the Premier League, because it’s quite tough. Already now we’re doing double sessions every day. So, it’s good for us, but it’s a tough start. I’m glad he came over to us.”

Strand Larsen will be so key for Lopez at Wolves
It is very encouraging to hear this kind of verdict about Lopez already.
But one thing is for sure, patience is required over Lopez considering his age.
Steve Bull has called for patience over Lopez, and certainly, he cannot be expected to have a huge impact right from the off.
But the early signs are promising.

Strand Larsen will be especially important for the Spaniard in his first season.
The pair crossed paths before at Celta Vigo, before Lopez was in the first team, and this summer they went on holiday together.
So there’s a good friendship there already, and the Norwegian will no doubt help him to settle.
