Hugo Ekitike agrees personal terms with Liverpool, £75-80 million deal may be possible

Liverpool are discussing a fee with Eintracht Frankfurt for Hugo Ekitike after the striker agreed to personal terms and rejected other suitors.

According to Ben Jacobs, Liverpool are advancing in the chase of Hugo Ekitike with discussions over a fee underway. The French striker has already agreed on personal terms with the Merseysiders, while rejecting a host of other suitors.

The Hugo Ekitike drama is set to unfold in Liverpool’s favour following the developments on Thursday. The French striker has been in the news following Newcastle United’s approach earlier in the week, with Liverpool later swooping in.

The Magpies earmarked signing the striker to play alongside Alexander Isak, which resulted in Liverpool enquiring about Ekitike. The Magpies reiterated their stance on Isak, claiming they wanted to keep the Swede, which then saw fears grow over their chances to land the Frenchman.

Liverpool have since made headway in pursuit of Hugo Ekitike following talks with Eintracht Frankfurt. It appears the Reds have presented a verbal offer worth £70 million; talks on the final fee are underway, and it could be between £75-80 million.
