Heung-min Son ‘likely’ scenario revealed as LAFC push hard for Tottenham captain
A new report has made a huge claim on Heung-min Son’s upcoming transfer decision as Major League Soccer and Saudi Pro League clubs push ahead with a move for the Tottenham captain.
While it was reported until a couple of weeks ago that Son would like to see out his contract at Spurs and join the MLS next summer, the situation appears to have changed over the last 48 hours.
It emerged on Wednesday that Los Angeles FC are now determined to sign the Tottenham superstar this summer after hearing that he is surplus to requirements in North London.
That update, which came from The Athletic, suggested that talks between LAFC and Son were not at an advanced stage, but things have moved rapidly since then.
Heung-min Son is now increasingly likely to leave Tottenham
On Thursday morning, it emerged that LAFC had officially submitted an offer for Son as the MLS club tries to reunite the forward with Hugo Lloris.
Now, a new report from The Times has claimed that the 33-year-old is ‘increasingly likely’ to leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after the offer arrived from the Californian club.
The outlet asserts that several Saudi Pro League clubs have also substantiated their interest in the Tottenham star over recent weeks.
However, the report backs up what has been said by other sources: the experienced forward will only leave following Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-season tour of South Korea, with his presence in the tour being crucial to the Lilywhites commercially.
Could Son still decide to stay at Spurs?
Some sources have claimed that Son could decide to stay at Tottenham until January and is not particularly keen on exiting the club this summer.
However, with LAFC now seemingly working to convince the forward, it remains to be seen if he decides to change his mind.
Whatever happens, it will be the 33-year-old himself who will make the final decision, with reports making it clear that Tottenham will not push Son out the door, even though he is in the final year of his deal.
A new report has shed light on whether Morgan Gibbs-White’s stance on a move to Tottenham Hotspur has changed after the midfielder joined Nottingham Forest’s training camp in Portugal.
As reports emerge that Alexander Isak has refused to travel on the pre-season tour with Newcastle United to force through a move, Spurs fans will be wondering why Gibbs-White has not done the same.
Earlier this week, we heard that Gibbs-White has joined the Forest squad in Portugal for their pre-season tour, although he travelled a few days late due to personal reasons.
Some Spurs fans on social media have called on the club to abandon the Gibbs-White deal and pursue other alternatives, with many understandably frustrated by how long this saga has dragged on.
